I bought it a few years ago for my Thanksgiving turkey. It takes all the guesswork out of roasting. I always use the programmable function, since I don’t necessarily agree with the presets for the various meats. I do use it for every meat I roast anymore, though. I love being able to put it in the oven and not open the door again until the meat is finished cooking. It’s worth the small investment to replace the instant read thermometer that can’t stay in the oven. And of course, never, ever, ever go by the little plastic one that’s supposed to popup when the turkey’s done!
